Edinburgh has one of the highest rates of casualised staff in UK universities, and casualisation is one of the union’s biggest priorities. UCU Scotland is therefore organising a half-day session for reps, contacts and activists on anti-casualisation work to take place 29 April in Edinburghl.
The session will include best practice advice, guidance and tips on campaigning against casualisation, and negotiating with management to address casual and zero hours contracts.
The session will be held at the University of Edinburgh, and is open to reps/activists from all branches. Travel and subsistence costs will be covered, and lunch will be provided for participants. Timings likely to be 10.30am for 11am start, ending at 3.30pm. More details to follow in due course.
